Sales and marketing are specialised subjects. Young folk can learn all sorts of tricks of the trade by watching the apprentice on tv. In fact those candidates are always so lousy that a grand lesson has to be learned – do not try and replicate any of the antics and dreadful sales pitches that are featured. The whole point about sales pitches is they must be seamless, no one should realise you’re actually doing it there and then. When that contract is signed for your services, there should be no surprises around the corner when you find the main person to handle the campaign is too busy or wants to be away at that time on holiday!
