Scheduling meetings, events, parties and other office events can be a taxing task. It is important that everyone who needs to attend is able to come, has enough notice and knows what the meeting or event is about. Here are my tips for making your business schedules work better for your business.
- Set up electronic calendars. Many email hosts have calendar facilities which enable you to invite people to meetings, see when each other is free, notify of any changes and email out information about said meeting or event. These are really helpful when you have a lot of people who perhaps work remotely, so you cannot check with them there and then if they are in the office that day – they simply get a meeting request on their email calendar which they can respond to.
- It is important to leave enough time to schedule your meeting – make sure people have plenty of notice about your meeting if you can. The more important the meeting, the more time you should allow! If it is important for certain people to be in attendance, make sure you mark the event as important on the calendar, and give people as much information as you can prior to the meeting.
